Katarina

Katarina is a memorable non-player character (NPC) in Genshin Impact, first encountered in The Chasm area. She is a Fatui Cicin Mage, part of an advance team on a mission in The Chasm. Unlike other Fatui members, Katarina is not initially hostile towards the Traveler. Interacting with her triggers a world quest called "Lost in a Foreign Land." In this quest, Katarina asks the Traveler for help in finding her missing younger brother, Nikolay. Katarina is also an acquaintance of Lyudochka Snezhevna, who disguised herself as Gendou Ringo in Inazuma, both of whom are from the House of the Hearth orphanage. Despite being a Fatui member, Katarina demonstrates deep care for her brother and shows a more human side. After completing her quest, it is revealed that Katarina goes off to search for her brother on her own, with her ultimate fate unknown, leaving a lasting impression on players and showcasing a different side of the Fatui beyond their combat role.
