Scaramouche, also known as the Wanderer, is a complex and multifaceted character in the game Genshin Impact. Initially introduced as the Sixth of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, codenamed "the Balladeer," he was later redeemed in the story and became a playable character under the name "the Wanderer." He was originally created as a prototype puppet by the Electro Archon of Inazuma, Raiden Ei, with the initial purpose of being a vessel for the Gnosis. However, due to shedding tears in his dreams, he was deemed too fragile, and his power was sealed and he was abandoned. Subsequently, Scaramouche experienced multiple betrayals and exploitations, leading to his cynical and arrogant personality, and distrust of humanity. After joining the Fatui, he gained the name "Scaramouche," derived from a character in Italian commedia dell'arte, which represents cowardice and boastfulness. In the Sumeru storyline, he attempted to become a god but was ultimately defeated by the Traveler and Nahida. Ultimately, he erased his existence from the Irminsul, gaining a fresh start as the "Wanderer". He is an Anemo character who uses a catalyst, capable of hovering in battle and performing ranged attacks. His unique gameplay and complex backstory have made him a very popular character among players.
