In Genshin Impact, Simurgh is not a character or creature but a significant concept derived from the mythical Persian bird. It is deeply connected to the history and lore of the Sumeru region. Simurgh symbolizes a divine bird formed from the "radiance" of the Goddess of Flowers, Nabu Malikata, given its form by the Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. It was tasked with safeguarding the world and maintaining the boundary between life and death. In the game's story, Simurgh sacrificed itself, merging with the dew sea corrupted by the Abyss to resolve a crisis and protect Teyvat. Although it does not have a direct physical form, Simurgh plays a vital role in the storyline and background, being an essential part of Sumeru's lore. There is even a music track named "Where Simurgh Rests" in the game's soundtrack.
