Changsheng

Changsheng is Baizhu's companion in Genshin Impact, a white snake that rests on his shoulders. Her name, “Changsheng,” means 'long life' in Chinese, which is tied to the mysterious contract she shares with Baizhu. Legend says that Changsheng was once a Herblord, an adeptus who could transform into a white snake, with expertise in medicine. To find a way to save all patients, a doctor made a contract with Changsheng. She would teach him healing arts, but it would drain his life force. Baizhu is the inheritor of this contract and is researching immortality to free himself from it. Changsheng does not maliciously feed on the life force of her contractors, but rather, laments not being able to save them. She and Baizhu share a complex and deep bond, depending on each other while exploring the mysteries of life.
