Karkata is a memorable mechanical being in Genshin Impact, first appearing in Tighnari's story quest. Created by a deceased scholar, it possesses consciousness gained through artificial commands, despite not having elemental power itself. Karkata's actions display a complex capacity for emotion and understanding, most notably in its attempts to find parts to "fix" its deceased owner, despite not understanding the concept of 'death.' Although Karkata cannot speak, its loyalty and care for its owner deeply resonated with players, leading Tighnari to choose to repair it and make it a research assistant rather than dismantling it. Karkata is regarded as one of the "cutest" characters in the game by many players and remains in the game after completing the quest.
