Augustus Lovelace is a researcher from Fontaine in Genshin Impact, affiliated with the Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering. He first appears in the Sumeru world quest "Recollections of a Fontainian." Augustus is somewhat sensitive, particularly to strong smells and dislikes spicy aromas. He is a lover of cleanliness and finds it unbearable to be in ruins. To relax, he chooses to travel and encounters the Traveler during his journey. In conversations with the Traveler, he mentions his research work in Fontaine and expresses his longing for his homeland. Notably, his name "Augustus Lovelace" is likely a nod to Ada Lovelace, the famous female scientist considered to be the first computer programmer.
