King Deshret, also known as Al-Ahmar or Amun, was the ancient ruler of the desert region in Sumeru in Genshin Impact. He was one of the three god-kings who governed Sumeru, alongside the Goddess of Flowers, Nabu Malikata, and the God of Wisdom, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. Deshret was an ambitious and idealistic leader who even dared to challenge the Heavenly Principles. Legends say he was a "son of the sky", highly revered by the three great desert tribes. In his desire to create a paradise free of sorrow in memory of the deceased Goddess of Flowers, he went astray in his pursuit of forbidden knowledge. His quest for deeper understanding led to a pact with the ancient dragon Apep, ultimately resulting in the downfall of his civilization. King Deshret sacrificed himself to contain the devastation caused by this forbidden knowledge, and his story continues to be remembered.
