Al-Ahmar, also known as the Scarlet King or King Deshret, is a former ruler of the Sumeru region in Genshin Impact, and one of the three God-Kings of Sumeru. His demon name is Amon. According to legends, Al-Ahmar is believed to be a descendant of the sky, a king of warriors, horticulturalists, and sages, deeply revered by the three great tribes and the Jinn. He formed an alliance with the Goddess of Flowers, Nabu Malikata, and the Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, co-ruling Sumeru and building the paradise of Vourukasha Oasis. However, the death of the Goddess of Flowers and his exploration of forbidden knowledge eventually led to his downfall and the collapse of his kingdom. Al-Ahmar's story is a tragic one, portraying his transformation from a revered and wise ruler to someone who delved into dark forces. His ruins are scattered throughout the Sumeru desert and are still worshipped and followed by some. His name, "Al-Ahmar," means "red" in Arabic, possibly symbolizing his power and dominion over the desert.
