Varuna

In Genshin Impact, "Varuna" is not a character but a concept deeply connected to the Sumeru region, specifically related to a device called the "Varuna Contraption." This contraption, located in Apam Woods and created by the Aranara Rann-Muu and Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, functions to collect rainwater and transform it into life-giving water, nurturing the forest and revitalizing the once barren land. During the "Varuna Gatha" questline within the "Aranyaka" quest series, players work with an Aranara named Arapandu to restore this device. "Varuna" means "God of Water" in Sanskrit, highlighting the contraption's association with the Hydro element. Furthermore, the quest line mentions "Nara Varuna," a mysterious figure described as a "golden Nara" who assisted the Aranara in the past. This figure shares similarities with the Traveler, leading to theories that Nara Varuna could be the Traveler's sibling.
