Karl Ingold

Karl Ingold is a character in Genshin Impact, playing a significant background role. He is a journalist and engineer from Fontaine, who has close ties to Jakob Baker and Rene de Petrichor. After the Siege of Poisson, Karl adopted Jakob and Rene, and took them on an expedition to Sumeru during their childhood to study the ruins of the Khaenri'ah civilization. During this journey, Rene discovered that his and Jakob's body compositions differed from Karl's. Karl was also sent to mediate peace talks that ultimately led to a bloody conflict, known as the infamous Siege of Poisson. He was friends with Eduardo Baker, but both Eduardo and Renault died in that conflict. Karl Ingold is also connected to the Narzissenkreuz Ordo, an organization co-founded by Jakob.
