Edwin Eastinghouse

Edwin Eastinghouse is a character from Fontaine in Genshin Impact. He was a senior researcher and technocrat at the Fontaine Research Institute, known for his exceptional talent and passion for research. Edwin was so dedicated to science that he was willing to pursue it without seeking personal gain. His most notable invention is the Experimental Field Generator, designed to counteract gravity and elevate Fontaine into a sky city, thus evading the prophesied flood. However, an experimental accident led to the explosion of the Fontaine Research Institute, causing Edwin's disappearance. He was subsequently dismissed from his position at the Institute and was later discovered to have established a secret laboratory in the Erinnyes Forest. Eventually, he was arrested and imprisoned in the Fortress of Meropide. Despite Edwin's good intentions, his experimental mishap led to severe consequences. His subordinates were also known to engage in problematic activities such as selling Institute assets and plagiarizing research, but Edwin ignored these issues to advance his research. His joint research with Raimondo Haverbot on the 'Arkhe Kinetic Core' ultimately ignited the chain of events leading to his experimental accident. Now, he is imprisoned in the Fortress of Meropide, his past glories having faded.
