Stanley

Stanley is a memorable non-player character in Genshin Impact, first encountered during Venti's story quest, "Should You Be Trapped in a Windless Land." He is initially portrayed as a legendary adventurer of Mondstadt, boasting of his exploits in the Mare Jivari. However, as the story unfolds, players discover that he is actually Hans Archibald, and the real Stanley died saving Hans's life during their journey to the Mare Jivari. To honor his deceased companion, Hans began impersonating Stanley and telling tales of his adventures, eventually fully embodying the person he was pretending to be. Venti, as the Anemo Archon Barbatos, helps Hans break free from his extreme attachment and impersonation of his deceased friend, finally allowing the real Stanley to rest in peace. This narrative touches on themes of survivor's guilt, identity crisis, and the blurred line between delusion and imagination, making the character an unforgettable one for players.
