Arana

In Genshin Impact, Arana is a significant character who first appears in the Sumeru region's Aranyaka questline. Arana belongs to the mysterious forest spirits called Aranara, who have an elf-like appearance, can travel through dreams, and are only visible to children. Arana’s name combines the Aranara prefix "Ara" with "Rana," hinting at her close connection to the forest ranger Rana, and represents her key role in guiding the Traveler into the Aranara world. In the story, Arana helps the Traveler rescue Rana, who has fallen into a coma due to the Withering, and guides the Traveler to Vanarana, the home of the Aranara, which begins a series of adventures about friendship, memory, and forest protection. The Aranara possess unique powers; they can heal damage caused by the Withering, but cannot fully cure Rana, therefore requiring the Traveler to journey to their home to obtain the Bija, an item capable of healing her. In the plot, Arana uses her green orb power to protect children and erase their traumatic memories to ensure their safety.
