Bao'er

Bao'er is a mysterious character from Liyue in Genshin Impact. Initially, she appears as an archaeologist conducting "archaeological investigations" in the Liyue region. However, as the story progresses, players discover that she is actually a member of the Treasure Hoarders. She is involved in multiple questlines, including the world quest "Big Business" and the daily commission series "The Lost Relic." In the "Big Business" quest, she requests Noctilucous Jade from the player under the guise of needing them, in exchange for a required invoice. In the daily commissions, she guides the player through a series of actions under the pretense of searching for lost relics. Her true identity is revealed later in the daily commissions, and players will find out that she is a Treasure Hoarder. Bao'er's storyline is also connected to Soraya, a scholar from Sumeru. Players need to complete a series of tasks to unlock the hidden achievement "Scholarly Pretensions" and ultimately discover Bao'er's true intentions. Bao'er has a somewhat unique character model, leading some players to speculate that she might have been planned as a playable character or boss but was eventually designed as an ordinary NPC. Despite this, Bao'er plays an important role in the game's story, and her storyline has left a lasting impression on many players. She is often found in the Guili Plains area of Liyue, particularly near ruins.
