Full Metal Panic!

Full Metal Panic! (Japanese: フルメタル・パニック!, Hepburn: Furumetaru Panikku!) is a light novel series created by Shoji Gatoh and illustrated by Shiki Douji. The series follows Sousuke Sagara, a member of the covert anti-terrorist military organization Mithril, tasked with protecting Kaname Chidori, a spirited Japanese high school girl with unusual abilities. The series is known for its blend of military sci-fi, high school comedy, and action. It is set in an alternate reality where the Cold War has not ended and advanced technology known as 'Black Technology' exists. Sousuke's awkward attempts to navigate school life and his complex relationship with Kaname are central to the story, interweaving with Mithril's various military operations. The franchise has been adapted into various media, including anime series such as Full Metal Panic!, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, and Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory, all of which have garnered popularity. There are also several manga adaptations, such as Full Metal Panic! Σ, and a novel sequel titled Full Metal Panic! Family, which further expand the series' universe.
