Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team

Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team (Japanese: 機動戦士ガンダム 第08MS小隊) is an original video animation (OVA) anime series in the Gundam franchise. Released from January 25, 1996, to July 25, 1999, the 12-episode series details the exploits of an Earth Federation ground unit during the One Year War—specifically a month after the beginning of the original 1979 Gundam series and into the final weeks of the war. The series is set in the jungles of Southeast Asia in Universal Century 0079, where the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon are engaged in a brutal guerrilla war. Zeon's hopes for victory lie with an experimental mobile armor and its pilot, Aina Sahalin. Meanwhile, the Earth Federation Army receives reinforcements in the form of Ensign Shiro Amada, the new commander of the 08th MS Team. Shiro and Aina previously met during a mutual rescue in space, but Shiro is arrested for treason when he learns Aina is a Zeon pilot. The Federation offers Shiro a chance at redemption by tasking him to lead the 08th MS Team into Zeon territory to locate their hidden base. This conflict forces Shiro and Aina to decide where their allegiances truly lie.
