"Case Closed: The Time-Bombed Skyscraper," also known as "Detective Conan: The Time-Bombed Skyscraper," is the first theatrical anime film in the "Detective Conan" series, released in Japan on April 19, 1997. The story follows high school detective Shinichi Kudo, who is turned into a child named Conan Edogawa after being poisoned by a mysterious organization. While investigating the organization, he must also solve various cases. In this film, Conan receives an invitation, originally for Shinichi, but he cannot attend, so he sends Kogoro Mori in his place. Meanwhile, a series of bombings occur in Tokyo, and Conan discovers they are connected to the famous architect Teiji Moriya. Conan must stop the bomber before the bombs explode and protect his loved one, Ran Mori. The film heavily features the emotional relationship between Conan and Ran, setting the foundation for subsequent theatrical films. This movie marks the beginning of the "Detective Conan" theatrical film series, with a new movie released every year.
