Green Legend Ran (グリーンレジェンド乱) is a three-part Original Video Animation (OVA) series released between 1992 and 1993. Produced by AIC and Pioneer LDC, and directed by Satoshi Saga, it features an art style reminiscent of Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals. The story is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth, transformed into a vast desert after an alien invasion that caused the disappearance of oceans and rain. Six giant monoliths known as “Rodo” fell from space, altering the climate and becoming centers of survival. In this world, two opposing factions emerged: the “Rodoists,” a religious cult that worships the Rodo and practices hydraulic despotism, and the “Hazard,” a secret revolutionary group that opposes them. The protagonist, Ran, is an orphan seeking to join Hazard and avenge his mother's death. He encounters a silver-haired girl named Aira during a conflict, leading to his involvement in a war that determines the fate of the planet. The series is known for its blend of science fiction, adventure, and environmental themes, as well as its distinctive character designs and post-apocalyptic setting.
