Golden Boy (ゴールデンボーイ, Gōruden Bōi) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuya Egawa. It was originally serialized from 1992 to 1997 in Shueisha's Super Jump magazine and later compiled into ten tankōbon volumes. The series revolves around Kintaro Oe, a 25-year-old freeter and "traveling student" who, despite meeting the requirements for a law degree, dropped out of Tokyo University to embark on a journey across Japan, taking on various odd jobs. Throughout his travels, Kintaro encounters many women whose lives he dramatically changes, despite his initial poor impressions. He constantly observes and studies the people and events around him, meticulously recording his findings in a notebook he carries on his belt. Known for its humor and the protagonist's unique character, parts of the manga were adapted into a six-episode OVA series produced by Shueisha and KSS in 1995. The OVA is known for its mature content, featuring instances of partial female nudity, orgasms, and female masturbation, although it is not strictly a hentai animation. In contrast, the manga becomes almost pornographic starting in the second volume. A sequel to the manga, Golden Boy II, was serialized in Business Jump from 2010 to 2011.
