Slayers Excellent

Slayers Excellent (スレイヤーズえくせれんと) is the second OVA series of the Slayers franchise, consisting of three episodes. It serves as a prequel to the Slayers Perfect movie and details the earlier adventures of Lina Inverse and Naga the Serpent, particularly Naga's initial meeting with Lina. Produced by J.C. Staff, the OVA was released in Japan in 1998 and in the USA on DVD in 2004. The first episode, "Labyrinth," features Lina and Naga's first encounter, where they are lured into a labyrinth by villagers and must battle zombies, ghosts, a vampire, and Naga's antics. The second episode, "A Frightening Future," involves Lina taking a bodyguard job for a wealthy merchant's spoiled daughter, which leads to a kidnapping plot where Lina and Naga must team up to rescue her. The third episode, "Lina-chan's Lovely Makeover Operation," depicts Lina and Naga taking opposing sides in a fashion war between two designers, ultimately destroying their studios. Slayers Excellent is an important addition to the Slayers series, providing fans with more insight into the early experiences of the main characters.
