Dirty Pair

Dirty Pair (ダーティペア, Dāti Pea) is a Japanese science fiction comedy light novel series written by Haruka Takachiho, which has been adapted into anime, manga, and other media. The story is set in the years 2138-2143, when humanity has spread across thousands of star systems. The World Welfare Works Association (WWWA or 3WA) helps member systems of the United Galactica (UG) Federation deal with planetary-scale problems by sending agents known as "trouble consultants." The series focuses on Kei and Yuri, a team of trouble consultants known as the "Dirty Pair" for the destruction they often leave in their wake, a nickname they detest. Despite the disasters they cause, they typically complete their missions and are always cleared of any wrongdoing by the 3WA's Central Computer. The series won the Animage Anime Grand Prix award in 1985.
