Saiyuki

Saiyuki is a Japanese manga series created by Kazuya Minekura, loosely based on the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. The story is set in a world where humans and demons once lived in harmony. However, an attempt to resurrect a powerful demon king named Gyumaoh creates negative energy that corrupts the demons, causing them to attack humans. To stop Gyumaoh's resurrection, the bodhisattva Kanzeon sends a monk named Genjo Sanzo and three demons – Son Goku, Sha Gojyo, and Cho Hakkai – on a perilous journey to the west. The Saiyuki series is known for its unique characters, engaging plot, and beautiful artwork. Besides the manga, the series has been adapted into numerous anime series, OVAs, films, games, and stage plays, gaining a large fan base worldwide. Gensomaden Saiyuki is the first anime adaptation of the series, primarily focusing on the journey of the four main characters as they overcome obstacles, fight enemies, and gradually uncover a hidden conspiracy.
