Voogie`s Angel

Voogie's Angel (電脳戦隊ヴギィ'ズ・エンジェル, Dennou Sentai Voogie's Angel) is a three-episode Japanese original video animation (OVA) series, based on a 1996 radio drama of the same name created by Aoi Takeuchi. The story is set a hundred years after Earth has been invaded by aliens, forcing humanity to live in underwater cities. Five cybernetically enhanced women are trained to carry out guerilla attacks in hopes of reclaiming Earth; they are humanity's last hope, known as the "Voogie's Angels". The character designs for the animation were redone by Masami Oobari, based on the original designs by Shin'ichi Miyamae for the radio drama. The series was produced by J.C.Staff and FRONTLINE studios. In addition to the main series, there's a spin-off OVA titled Dennou Sentai Voogie's Angel Gaiden: Susume! Super Angels!, and a compilation OVA called Dennou Sentai Voogie's Angel: Forever and Ever, featuring 7 minutes of new footage. A reboot radio drama CD, Dennou Sentai Last Angels, was released in 2021. The series is known for its mecha designs, science fiction setting, and its focus on female protagonists, and has seen releases across various platforms including radio, manga, and OVA formats.
