Bubblegum Crash!

Bubblegum Crash! (バブルガムクラッシュ!) is a 1991 OVA anime series produced by Artmic and Artland. It serves as a sequel to the 1987 OVA series Bubblegum Crisis, taking place a year after its events. The Knight Sabers appear to have disbanded, with all members except Nene Romanova pursuing their own goals. However, a series of robberies, murders, and Boomer malfunctions begin to occur. Sylia Stingray, the leader of the Knight Sabers, is forced to reunite Nene and the other members. They attempt to uncover the person or thing behind the recent crimes, which are related to the creation of an advanced artificial intelligence. The series consists of three episodes and was produced by Artmic, and it is conjectured that it was a shortened version of how Bubblegum Crisis was intended to end. Due to legal issues with Youmex, the series was cut short and the franchise was embroiled in legal issues for many years. Bubblegum Crash! received mixed reviews from fans and critics, with some considering it inferior to Bubblegum Crisis and its reboot, Tokyo 2040.
