The Super Milk-chan Show (Japanese: OH! スーパーミルクチャン) is a Japanese anime comedy series directed by Hideyuki Tanaka. It initially began as 14 eight-minute segment episodes aired in 1998 on Fuji Television, and was later followed by a 12-episode, 24-minute full series titled OH! Super Milk-chan in 2000. The story centers around Milk, a 5-year-old self-proclaimed superheroine, who lives on a suspended platform with her malfunctioning robotic maid Tetsuko and her drunken pet slug Hanage. Whenever the President of “Everything” calls, Milk is sent on missions, which she often ignores, and regardless of whether the mission is accomplished, she takes credit and celebrates by eating sushi. The anime is known for its unique humor, popular culture references, and quirky characters. In North America, the series was released by ADV Films, featuring two different English dub versions: a straight translation of the Japanese version, and an Americanized version with western pop culture references and live-action skits. The series is rated TV-PG and TV-14 in the US, with some versions rated TV-MA.
