Rune Soldier

"Rune Soldier" (魔法戦士リウイ, Mahō Senshi Riui), also known as "Magical Soldier Louie," is a light novel series created by Ryo Mizuno that has been adapted into manga and anime. The series is set on the continent of Alecrast in the world of Forcelia, which is part of the same setting as "Record of Lodoss War." The main character, Louie, is an apprentice magician from the kingdom of Orphan who joins an adventuring party of three young women: the thief Merrill, the warrior Genie, and the priestess Melissa. Melissa has received a revelation from the god of war, Myrii, that Louie is her champion. This series is known for its humor, character interactions, and a unique twist on traditional fantasy elements. The anime adaptation features significant plot and visual changes, positioning Melissa as the main heroine and adding comedic and sexy scenes. The manga adaptation is based on the second light novel series, and a new manga version was released in 2016. This work is part of Ryo Mizuno's "Sword World" setting and is related to "Record of Lodoss War," taking place on a continent north of Lodoss Island.
