"Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoi yo!! Masaru-san" is a Japanese manga series created by Kyosuke Usuta. It was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 1995 to 1997, totaling 79 chapters. The story revolves around Masaru Hananakajima, a master of the mysterious martial art "Sexy Commando", and the quirky members of his Sexy Commando club. It's a manga full of absurdity and nonsensical humor, known for its unique perspective and disjointed comedic style. The work also contains parodies of 1980s pop culture, TV shows, and manga. Despite its popularity, the manga concluded after a year and eight months of serialization due to the author's health issues. Nonetheless, "Masaru-san" has deeply influenced many later comedy manga. In addition to the manga, it was also adapted into a TV anime, which aired on TBS's late-night program "Wonderful".
