Mobile Fighter G Gundam, also known as Kidō Butōden G Gundam, is a 1994 Japanese anime television series produced by Sunrise as part of the Gundam franchise. Unlike previous Gundam series, G Gundam focuses on a fighting tournament rather than large-scale wars. Set in the Future Century, the plot revolves around the "Gundam Fight," a tournament held every four years where colonies send representatives piloting Gundams to battle for the right to rule Earth. The protagonist, Domon Kasshu, represents Neo-Japan in the 13th Gundam Fight, seeking to both win the tournament and track down his brother who stole the Devil Gundam. G Gundam is notable for its unique blend of martial arts and mecha combat, offering a significant departure from traditional Gundam themes and designs. It’s a 49-episode series broadcast from April 22, 1994, to March 31, 1995. Despite initial controversy, G Gundam has become a popular and influential part of the franchise.
