Pokémon 3: The Movie, also known as Spell of the Unown, is the third feature film in the Pokémon anime franchise. Originally released in Japan in 2000 as *Gekijōban Pocket Monsters: Kesshōtō no Teiō Entei*, it was released in North America in 2001. The film centers around a young girl named Molly Hale who, after her father disappears while researching the mysterious Unown, unknowingly uses their power to transform her mansion into a crystal palace and creates an illusionary Entei to act as her father. Driven by her desire for a mother, Entei kidnaps Ash’s mother Delia, hypnotizing her into believing she is Molly’s mother. Ash, along with his friends, must venture into the crystal palace to stop the Unown and rescue Delia. The movie also features a short film showcasing Pikachu’s encounter with the Pichu Brothers. While praised for having a better plot than its predecessors, the film still received mixed reviews from critics. However, it was a commercial success, grossing millions of dollars worldwide. It was also the last Pokémon movie to be distributed by Warner Bros. until 2019’s Detective Pikachu.
