Macross - Do You Remember Love

"Macross: Do You Remember Love?" is a 1984 Japanese animated film that reinterprets the 1982 TV anime "Super Dimension Fortress Macross". Rather than a simple recap of the TV series, it features all-new animation with significant alterations to character designs, mecha, and plot. The film centers on an interstellar war between humanity and giant alien races, but emphasizes how human culture and love can influence the war's course. In the film, the theme song "Do You Remember Love?" sung by idol singer Lynn Minmay becomes a key cultural weapon that helps humanity turn the tide of battle. Considered a classic of Japanese animation, its unique visual style, music, and profound themes have profoundly influenced subsequent anime works. The film is also established as a popular fictional movie within the "Macross" series' universe.
