"Art of Fighting" (Japanese: 龍虎の拳, Ryūko no Ken) is a fighting game series originally released by SNK for the Neo Geo platform in the early 1990s. It is the second fighting game franchise created by SNK, following the Fatal Fury series, and is set in the same fictional universe. The series consists of three games: "Art of Fighting" (1992), "Art of Fighting 2" (1994), and "Art of Fighting 3: The Path of the Warrior" (1996). Known for its unique "spirit gauge" system, super attacks, and graphical scaling, the games follow the story of Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia, students of Kyokugen Karate, as they fight to rescue Ryo's sister Yuri from the criminal underworld of South Town. An anime adaptation, "Art of Fighting: Battle Spirits" (バトルスピリッツ 龍虎の拳), based on the first game, was also produced, depicting Ryo and Robert's quest to save Yuri. Characters from the series frequently appear in other SNK fighting games, such as "The King of Fighters" series.
