パワードール

Power Dolls (パワードール) is a Japanese strategy game franchise developed by KOGADO STUDIO, which also spawned two OVA anime releases. The first, titled 'Power Dolls: Omni-Chronicles 2540', was released on March 20, 1996, and the second, 'Power Dolls: Project α', on March 1, 1998. The story is set in 2535 A.D., when the people of the colony world Omni, tired of oppression by the Terran government, declare their independence. Lacking a formal military and specialized weapons, the Omni rebellion seems doomed. However, by adapting robotic Power Loaders used for unloading spaceships into humanoid battle tanks, they usher in a new era of mechanized combat. Now, the future of Omni rests on a handful of young female pilots in the special Detachment of Limited Line Service, codenamed 'The Power Dolls'! The anime miniseries consists of two OVA episodes, co-produced by Artmic (episode one), OLM Inc. (episode two), Studio Kogado, Shueisha, and VAP, and directed by Masayuki Hidaka. Each episode had different staff, resulting in noticeable character design differences between the two. It was released in Japan from March 1, 1996 to March 1, 1998. In the United States, ADV Films released the first episode on VHS in 1996, and later both episodes on DVD in 2003.
