"Sprite: Between Two Worlds" (Manami & Nami Sprite) is a 1997 original video animation (OVA) series produced by J.C.Staff, based on a manga by Shinobu Arimura. The series consists of two episodes released in Japan from April 21, 1997, to August 8, 1997. In 2000, an English dub of the anime was released in North America on VHS by U.S. Manga Corps. The story revolves around a shy girl named Manami Sakumoto who has a split personality. Within her, there is a completely opposite persona named Nami. Manami is usually introverted, but when Nami appears, she becomes extroverted, confident, and aggressive, and Manami has no memory of what happens when Nami is in control. The plot focuses on Manami's struggle with her dual personality and her attempts to understand and control Nami, with her cousin Toru playing a significant role in helping her navigate her issues. The anime blends comedy, romance, and some ecchi elements, and is considered an early example of exploring the theme of split personality in anime.
