"Legend of Crystania: The Motion Picture" (Japanese: はじまりの冒険者たち レジェンド・オブ・クリスタニア) is a 1995 Japanese animated film considered a sequel to "Record of Lodoss War". The story follows Redon, the prince of Da'nan, who flees to the mystical land of Crystania after his parents are murdered. Adapted from Ryo Mizuno's CD drama and novels, the film portrays Redon and his companions' adventures in Crystania, where they encounter various beast gods and human tribes, ultimately battling the evil beast god king Barbas. The film explores themes of power, revenge, and destiny, integrating action and adventure elements within a fantasy setting. The movie is part of the "Legend of Crystania" franchise, which also includes novels, manga, and an OVA series. Despite its limited production budget, the film's unique setting and world drew a dedicated fanbase. The soundtrack was composed by Michiru Oshima, and the theme song was performed by Hitomi Mieno. While the plot is adapted from the novels, there are differences in the anime's visual presentation and character designs compared to the original source material.
