"Dragon Blade: The Legend of Lang," also known as "Dragon Blade," is a 3D animated Hong Kong film produced by Teles Digital Productions Ltd. and directed by Si Tu Yonghua. Set in ancient China, the film blends traditional Chinese culture with kung fu elements, making it the world's first 3D stereoscopic kung fu animation film. The story follows a righteous young man named Hong Liang as he embarks on a quest to find the “Dragon Blade” to save the residents of Peach Blossom Town from the evil Wild Boar King. The film cost 80 million yuan and took two years to complete, involving over 70 Hong Kong computer animators. Despite not achieving significant box office success in Hong Kong, "Dragon Blade" won the Second Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Excellence Award. The film features traditional Chinese cultural elements in its character designs, costumes, and scene settings, with action designs based on authentic Chinese martial arts. The detailed martial arts scenes, such as the “Iron Arm Spear Array,” and the home of the female lead, Ying Ying, showcase the production team’s meticulous work.
