Samurai 7

"Samurai 7" is a 2004 Japanese anime series produced by Gonzo, loosely based on Akira Kurosawa's 1954 film "Seven Samurai." The story is set in the distant future on a planet that may have been called Earth, where a war had taken place involving samurai who mechanized their bodies. After the war, a fragile peace was established. However, mechanized bandits (Nobuseri) began to raid villages, prompting the villagers of Kanna to hire samurai for protection. The village's water priestess, Kirara, her younger sister, Komachi, and a heartbroken villager, Rikichi, embark on a journey to find samurai willing to fight for food. They eventually gather seven samurai of varying skills and experience to stand against the bandits and those who manipulate them. The anime adds futuristic and fantasy elements to the original story, creating an epic action-adventure tale.
