Hanaukyo Maid Team: La Verite

"Hanaukyo Maid Team: La Verite" is a remake of the anime series "Hanaukyo Maid Team," telling the story of Taro Hanaukyo, who inherits his grandfather's mansion and its hundreds of maids after his mother's death. These maids, while nominally called maids, manage various departments of the mansion, including defense, science, and catering. Taro becomes particularly interested in a mysterious maid named Mariel, who harbors secrets about her past and destiny. The anime follows Taro's daily life with these maids, interspersed with challenges like budget competitions, cosplay events, and even conflicts with Taro's family rivals. It is known for its harem and maid themes, and its humorous storylines, while also exploring master-servant relationships, ultimately arriving at an anti-slavery theme of "it is meaningless if she becomes a puppet." The anime consists of 12 episodes and aired in 2004. It is not only a reinterpretation of the original work but also provides a more complete story ending and significant improvements in art quality. The plot is closer to the original manga, delving deeper into Mariel's past and fate. The opening theme is "Voice of Heart" by Rie Tanaka, and the ending theme is "Osewashimasu!" by Kozue Yoshizumi, Mai Kadowaki, and Yuuya Yoshikawa.
