Hyper Speed GranDoll

Hyper Speed GranDoll (Japanese: 超光速グランドール, romanized: Chō Kōsoku Gurandōru) is a three-episode Original Video Animation (OVA) released in 1997 by Zero-G studio. The story revolves around Hikaru Amagi, a high school girl who discovers she is the heir to a royal lineage from a distant planet. She also learns she possesses the ultimate armor that can decide the fate of the galaxy. Hikaru must transform into the warrior Grandoll to protect Earth from villainous alien invaders and prevent her powered armor from falling into the wrong hands. The anime blends science fiction and magical girl elements, drawing comparisons to Sailor Moon and Galaxy Fraulein Yuna. It also explores Hikaru’s relationships with her adoptive parents, friends, and the allies and enemies she encounters in battle. A PlayStation game was also released based on the OVA, a side-scrolling action platformer akin to Metroid and Mega Man. Critics found the anime's plot predictable, but it remains entertaining.
