Re:キューティーハニー

Re: Cutie Honey is a three-episode OVA series released in 2004, based on the 1970s manga Cutie Honey by Go Nagai, and sharing the same universe as the live-action film Cutie Honey released in the same year. Co-produced by Gainax and Toei Animation, and directed by Hideaki Anno, it aired on the Animax satellite television network. The story revolves around Honey Kisaragi, a gynoid created by the late Dr. Kisaragi, who can transform freely using the "Airborne Element Solidifier" within her, fighting against the evil crime organization Panther Claw. Honey appears in various disguises and when needed transforms into the scantily-clad sword-wielding warrior, Cutie Honey. The series is both a tribute to the original manga and a modern take on it, adding more nudity and character depth. Compared to previous Cutie Honey series, this version features Cutie Honey with dark-reddish eyes instead of green, and a costume that covers more of her chest, but exposes her midriff and other parts. The OVA has received mixed reviews for its visuals, but praise for its story and music.
