Ladius

"Makyou Gaiden Le Deus" (魔境外伝レ・ディウス) is an original mecha OVA co-produced by Toho and Ashi Productions, released in 1987. The story follows treasure hunter Riot and his charming allies as they explore the ruins of a post-apocalyptic world. Their primary goal is to acquire the "Eyes of Zalem," a remarkable artifact said to lead them to the elusive Rido, a precious treasure of the Quall civilization with the ability to resurrect the deceased. However, Riot's quest is jeopardized by the villainous Demsters, who are also seeking the treasure and will not hesitate to thwart his mission. The OVA is directed by Hiroshi Negishi, written by Hideki Sonoda, and features character designs by Aran Rei. Main characters include Riot, voiced by Kazuki Yao; Yuta, voiced by Yuko Mizutani; and the twin androids Spica and Seneca. The animation blends adventure, mecha, and fantasy elements, but due to its OVA format, the plot remains somewhat incomplete, leaving many mysteries unresolved. The music is composed by Hiroyuki Nanba, and the theme song "Midnight Shout" is performed by Mitori Karashima.
