"God Bless Dancouga" is a 1987 OVA anime that serves as a sequel to the TV anime "Super Beast Machine God Dancouga." Set one year after the battle against the Muge Zorbados Empire, the story sees the Cyber Beast Force living normal lives before a hidden force compels them to reunite. In this OVA, the Dancouga mecha is enhanced, gaining the ability to fly without a booster unit and wielding the new "Danku Kou Gaken" weapon. Originally intended for theatrical release, it was released as an OVA instead. The soundtrack production shifted from EPIC Sony to King Records, resulting in newly recorded theme songs and insert songs. The main voice actors formed a unit called "Jusenki Tai" to perform the songs, even holding a concert. Koichi Ohata contributed to mecha designs, including Dancouga’s retractable wings and the Danku Cannon, while Masami Obari participated as a key animator, credited as "Gocho Hiroki". In the plot, the Cyber Beast Force faces a new crisis, collaborating with the BANDITS guerrilla team, who inherited Alan’s will, to fight new enemies, alongside the resurrection of old adversaries. "God Bless Dancouga" is both a much-anticipated continuation for the series' fans and a foundation for future works in terms of mecha design and story progression.
