Windy Tales (風人物語, Fūjin Monogatari) is a Japanese anime television series produced by Production I.G, about a group of people who can control the wind. The series premiered from September 11, 2004, to February 26, 2005, across Japan on the anime television network Animax, which also later aired the series across its respective networks worldwide, including East Asia, Southeast Asia, and other regions. It is distinguished from other Production I.G series because of its draft-like animation style mixed with 3D elements. The story revolves around Nao, an 8th grader and one of only two members of a Digital Camera Club, who enjoys photographing skies and clouds. One day, she encounters a cat on a rooftop that can manipulate the wind. The series also introduces Nao's friend Miki, Mr. Taiki, a teacher who taught the cat to control the wind, Ryoko who has a crush on Mr. Taiki, Jun who helps Nao and Miki look for a flying cat, and Yukio, the widow of Mr. Taiki’s deceased brother. On the outskirts of a large city, a town of "Wind Handlers" has formed, and a mysterious Wind Festival is about to begin. The anime consists of 13 episodes, blending slice-of-life and supernatural elements, and is praised for its relaxing pace and unique visual style.
