TRAVA FIST PLANET

TRAVA FIST PLANET is a Japanese anime OVA produced by Grasshoppa! and co-directed by Katsuhito Ishii and Takeshi Koike. Originally released in four parts between 2001 and 2002, it was later re-edited into a single feature film in 2003, which included English subtitles, a making-of featurette, 5.1 surround sound, character figurines, and a pilot for a potential sequel. The story follows Trava, a former military pilot, and his mechanic partner Shinkai, as they embark on a survey mission to an unknown planet. There, they encounter an amnesiac girl named Mikuru and get embroiled in various events. To earn enough money to enter the "Fist Planet" fighting tournament, they must first deal with challenges including the amnesiac princess, a giant, and a horde of insectoid killer-robots. The OVA is considered a prequel to the 2009 film Redline, and Trava and Shinkai also appear as racers in that film.
