Birdy the Mighty

"Birdy the Mighty" (Japanese: 鉄腕バーディー, Hepburn: Tetsuwan Bādī) is a Japanese science fiction manga series written and illustrated by Masami Yuki. The initial manga ran from 1985 to 1988 but was abandoned. Yuki began a reboot in 2003 titled "Birdy the Mighty Evolution." The series was adapted into a four-episode original video animation (OVA) in 1996, directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri. In 2008, A-1 Pictures produced a two-season anime television series titled "Birdy the Mighty: Decode." The story revolves around Birdy Cephon Altera, a Federation agent who accidentally kills high school student Tsutomu Senkawa while pursuing an intergalactic criminal. To save Tsutomu, Birdy merges with him, forcing them to share one body as they fight against alien threats. The series combines science fiction, action, and comedy while exploring themes of identity, responsibility, and relationships.
