下級生2 ~瞳の中の少女たち~

"Kakyusei 2 ~Hitomi no Naka no Shoujo-tachi~" (Underclassman 2 ~Girls in Their Eyes~) is a TV anime adaptation of the adult dating simulation game "Kakyusei 2" developed by elf, which aired in 2004. While it shares the same world setting as the original game, the anime significantly alters the plot, primarily focusing on the original character Shun Kishida and his interactions with various female characters. The protagonist, Roma Oriya, and his childhood friend, Tamaki Shibamon, encounter the mysterious boy Shun Kishida while searching for a missing club member, which kicks off a strange青春story. The anime uses a unique narrative style to portray the青春memories of different girls, but it received mixed reviews due to the substantial differences from the original work and the lack of a clear explanation for Shun Kishida's identity in the ending. The animation was produced by ARMS, with Yosuke Morino as the director, Shigeyasu Kageyama as the series composer and scriptwriter, and Takeyasu Kurashima as character designer. The opening theme "18" and ending theme "Koi no Uta" were both performed by Katusha, greatly enhancing the anime's appeal. Overall, "Kakyusei 2 ~Hitomi no Naka no Shoujo-tachi~" is an experimental animation work.
