"Tale of Young Grass: Nan and Miss Jo," also known as "Little Women II: Jo's Boys," is a 1993 Japanese animated television series produced by Nippon Animation. It is based on Louisa May Alcott's novel "Little Men" and serves as a sequel to the 1987 anime "Tales of Little Women." Set ten years after the events of the previous series, the story follows Josephine March (Jo) after she marries Friedrich Bhaer and establishes a new school at Plumfield, a farm left to her by her aunt. The school is home to her two sons, nephews, a niece, and a group of orphaned children, including Annie "Nan" Harding, a lively and spirited girl who becomes a central character. The series chronicles Jo's guidance of these children as they navigate various adventures, challenges, and friendships in their young lives.
