Sailor Moon Sailor Stars (美少女戦士セーラームーン セーラースターズ) is the fifth and final season of the Sailor Moon anime series, adapted from Naoko Takeuchi's manga. Produced by Toei Animation, it aired from 1996 to 1997, totaling 34 episodes. The season is divided into two main arcs: the first continues the story from Sailor Moon SuperS, featuring the Sailor Guardians facing Queen Nehelenia again; the second adapts the "Stars" arc of the manga, introducing new characters such as the Sailor Starlights and Sailor Galaxia. Galaxia, a corrupted Sailor Guardian, seeks to seize the Star Seeds of all Sailor Guardians to dominate the galaxy. This season marks the conclusion of the classic Sailor Moon anime and is known for its unique plot developments and the introduction of new characters, particularly the gender-bending Sailor Starlights, which caused controversy in the West.
