Touch 2: Farewell Gift (タッチ2 さよならの贈り物) is a 1986 Japanese animated film and the second in the theatrical series of the popular anime Touch. The story follows the events after the death of Kazuya Uesugi, with his older brother Tatsuya joining the baseball team to fulfill Kazuya's dream. Meanwhile, their childhood friend Minami Asakura begins to excel in rhythmic gymnastics. Tatsuya encounters a formidable rival, Akio Nitta, who saw Kazuya as a competitor and expresses a strong interest in challenging Tatsuya. After Minami has a mishap in a rhythmic gymnastics competition, Tatsuya persuades her to focus on gymnastics rather than juggling both it and the baseball team manager role. Ultimately, Tatsuya faces a decisive match against Nitta, during which he re-examines himself, realizing he is not a substitute for Kazuya, but must fight for himself. The film depicts the confusion, growth, and determination of youth towards their dreams, incorporating elements of love and friendship alongside athletic competition, and profoundly portrays the characters' inner struggles and transformations.
