Twilight Q (トワイライトQ) is a Japanese original video animation (OVA) series released in 1987 by Network Frontier (now Bandai Namco Arts). The series is similar to The Twilight Zone in its content and presentation. Originally planned as a six-episode series, only two episodes were produced. The first episode, "Time Knot: Reflection," directed by Tomomi Mochizuki, tells the story of high school student Mayumi who finds an old camera while diving at a beach. After developing the film, she discovers a photo of herself with an unknown man, despite having no memory of it, and learns that the camera is a model not yet released. The second episode, "Mystery Article File 538," directed by Mamoru Oshii, follows a detective investigating mysterious airplane disappearances and his investigation into a father and daughter, only to find himself drawn into a bizarre story. Twilight Q is known for its unique style and suspenseful plots. Although the entire series was not completed, it is considered a classic in Japanese animation history and was aired on the Japanese anime television network Animax on August 5, 2007. The work combines science fiction, suspense, and supernatural elements, exploring the boundary between reality and illusion, and has had a profound influence on later animation works.
