"Turn A Gundam I: Earth Light" is a 2002 Japanese animated film directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino. It is a compilation movie of the first 27 episodes of the "Turn A Gundam" TV series, with some new animation added. The story is set in Correct Century 2345, and follows Loran Cehack, a Moonrace member sent to Earth on a reconnaissance mission in preparation for a lunar migration. On Earth, Loran grows to love the land and its people, discovering an ancient giant mech, the Turn A Gundam. As tensions between Earth and the Moon escalate into full-scale war, Loran begins to pilot the Turn A Gundam to defend Earth. This movie is one of two films in the Turn A Gundam series, aiming to compress the essence of the TV anime into a shorter time frame. It retains the original's unique mecha designs, beautiful music, and profound themes, but is also criticized for its fast pacing. Despite this, it remains a worthwhile watch within the Gundam franchise.
